If the destination specifies pixel dimensions, file weight or a particular format, check those requirements independently. Editing appearance does not automatically satisfy a size limit, and converting or compressing afterward may change the result again.

The same operation can be part of a longer workflow. A typical sequence is to crop unwanted areas first, perform the creative change, resize to the final pixel dimensions and compress only at the end. Quality, accuracy and important limitations
OCR is not guaranteed to be exact. Handwriting, curved pages, decorative fonts, low contrast, small characters and complex tables can produce errors. Proofread names, numbers and legally important text against the image.
Image quality depends strongly on the source. A high-resolution original normally leaves more room for cropping and resizing, while a small screenshot or previously compressed download may already contain blur, ringing or block artefacts. Saving a new file cannot restore information that is absent from the source. When accuracy matters, compare the finished file side by side with the original.
Private browser processing and device performance
The selected image is processed locally by JavaScript and browser canvas APIs. The editing operation does not require the file to be uploaded to the Image Online Free server. This is useful for ordinary personal and work images, but you should still control where downloaded copies are stored and who can access your device.
Large images require more memory because the browser must decode the compressed file into pixels. A modern camera photo may occupy far more memory than its file size suggests. If a phone tab becomes slow, close unused applications, process one large file at a time or resize a copy before applying the effect.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Replacing the only copy of the original with an edited or compressed result.
- Judging sharpness only from a small fitted preview instead of opening the download.
- Assuming a visual edit also meets a website's dimensions or maximum file-size rule.
- Ignoring transparency when moving between PNG, WebP and JPG.
- Applying several lossy saves when the complete workflow could start again from the original.

No. The OCR engine runs in your browser with WebAssembly. Your image and the extracted text stay on your device.
Which languages are supported?
English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, and Arabic. Pick the one that matches your text before extracting.
Why does the first run take a few seconds?
The first time you use a language, the recognition model is downloaded from a public CDN and cached. Later runs in the same language are much faster.
How accurate is the text recognition?
Accuracy depends on image quality. Clean, high-contrast printed text is recognized very well; handwriting, low resolution, or heavy noise reduce accuracy.
Can it read handwriting?
It is optimized for printed and typed text. Handwriting may work partially but is not guaranteed.
Is there a file size or page limit?
You can process one image at a time up to 50 MB. There is no daily limit because everything runs locally.
